    Each project must include:
At least ONE (1) Mandatory Background.
    • At least TWO (2) Mandatory Sprites from the official ICIO 2026 asset package.

Projects that do not meet this requirement may receive penalties during judging or be deemed ineligible for awards.

    2. OFFICIAL ASSET PACKAGE

The official ICIO 2026 asset package consists of:
    • 9 Mandatory Backgrounds
    • 12 Mandatory Sprites

Participants are free to choose which backgrounds and sprites best match their project concept, storyline for Interactive Game or Educational Stories project.

Additional original assets created by participants are strongly encouraged and may contribute positively to the Creativity and Innovation score.

    3. MANDATORY OPENING PROJECT BANNER

Every project must begin with the official ICIO 2026 Opening Project Banner.

The banner must clearly display the following information:

    • NAME
    • PROJECT NUMBER
    • PROJECT TITLE
    • LEVEL CATEGORY

The Project Number will be provided individually by the Organizing Committee via the participant's registered email address.

    4. PROJECT IDENTIFICATION DURATION

The Opening Project Banner must remain visible for a minimum of 5 seconds before the main project starts.

The information displayed must be clearly readable and appropriately sized.

    5. ORIGINALITY REQUIREMENT

Participants may create additional characters, backgrounds, sounds, animations, and visual effects.

However, the submitted project must be the participant's own original work and must not infringe any copyright, trademark, intellectual property rights, or ownership rights belonging to third parties.

    6. MODIFICATION OF OFFICIAL ASSETS

Participants may resize, animate, move, rotate, or modify the provided ICIO assets as part of their project.

However, the original character identity and recognizability of the official assets should remain intact.

    7. PROJECT STORY INTEGRATION

The mandatory assets should be integrated naturally into the project's storyline, gameplay, simulation, educational content, or interactive experience.

Simply displaying mandatory assets without meaningful use may negatively impact the Creativity and Project Design evaluation.

    8. AI GENERATED IMAGES

Participants may use AI-assisted tools only if permitted under the specific category rules.

Any use of AI-generated images must be disclosed when requested by the Organizing Committee.

    9. FAIR PLAY DECLARATION

    • The project is their own original creation.
    • The project has not won or been submitted to another competition before ICIO 2026.

PROJECT TYPES, THEMES, AND MULTIPLE SUBMISSIONS

ICIO 2026 encourages creativity, innovation, and exploration of different ideas. Participants are therefore allowed to submit more than one project, provided that each project is registered separately and fulfills all competition requirements.

Each project must be developed under one of the following Project Types:

    • Interactive Games
    • Educational Stories

In addition, participants must select one of the official ICIO 2026 Themes:

    • Future Robots
    • Life in 2050
    • Space Colony

By combining the available Project Types and Themes, participants may choose from the following six official project categories:

    Interactive Games – Future Robots
Interactive Games – Life in 2050
    Interactive Games – Space Colony
    Educational Stories – Future Robots
Educational Stories – Life in 2050
    Educational Stories – Space Colony

Participants who wish to explore multiple ideas, stories, or game concepts are welcome to register and submit multiple projects across different categories.

    Each submitted project must:
    • Have its own registration.
    • Have its own Project Number.
    • Be judged independently.
    • Comply with all ICIO 2026 rules and requirements.

Submitting multiple projects does not provide any advantage or disadvantage during judging. Each project will be evaluated solely on its own creativity, coding implementation, educational value, technical execution, and overall quality (please read carefully the SCORE WEIGHTING ASPECTS).

ICIO 2026 celebrates innovation without limits. Participants are encouraged to challenge themselves by transforming different ideas into unique interactive experiences and educational creations.
